At most of my clients, their goal is to hire great associates. The senior ranks at the firm are typically filled by people that worked there before business school and get their MBA in return. There are really very rare opportunities for someone to exit strategy consulting at a more senior level and go into an investment role in private equity. That's incredibly rare.
