What Is the Difference Between Slow Thinking and Fast Thinking?

In the ordinary person, about all you experience of awareness is this sort of panumbra that i would call the subconscious. It's almost conscious, but it's not quite its own boundary. In somita, ou expand the field of conscious awareness and attention becomes a point that moves within that field. So shamata develops that. People think of sonata as developing concentration. They think of it as being primarily attention oriented. But if i were to give a description of samata, i would describe it as primarily the cultivation of very powerful mindfulness. And so this is the perfect preparation, then, for insight.
