Jed Wohlpaw: Local anesthetics are agents that are used to block nerve conduction and therefore provide sensory and maybe if you want, motor block aid as well. There's two basic classes of local anesthetics - amino amids and the amino esters. We'll go over some common agents and their pharmacodynamics and kinetics. And then we'll talk about common uses, common blocks that we do withlocal anesthetics,. what we use for them and how we use them.
