The Importance of Perpetual Virginity
Mary remained a virgin throughout her life, including through the process of Jesus being born. The idea of perpetual virginity is "a way of doing theology which I find very troubling," she says. She thinks that Joseph and Mary lived an ordinary married life after the birth of Jesus.
