The Importance of Ambiguity in Programming

I love this point that we might think, oh no, there is ambiguity here. But the way this is put is any apparent ambiguity is illusory since it has been consciously designed and is made manifest at the level of human interpretation. By contrast, all human understanding is predicated on the interpretation of the potentially ambiguous which requires a pre-existing horizon of tacit knowledge. There's no mechanisms in our programs that allow us to do these kinds of things.
