The Risks of Default in the Stock Market

Jon Wertheim: Are we going to get the downsides of a default before we even have the technical default? And then do we end up in a panic situation once that sort of starts trickling in? Well, you know, I hate to say this way. And I don't mean to sound like a super villain, but I certainly hope so. Because the only way if Congress and the White House can't get their acts together is if we get a sufficiently strong warning from financial markets.
