Louis Armstrong was one of the most sought-after trumpet players in New Orleans. His talent took him from New Orleans up to Chicago and then to New York City, where he recorded this solo on the song Sugar Foot Stomp. He modeled his sound after his first mentor, the legendary New Orleans trumpeter, Joe King Oliver.
