Maccabees - The Last Resting Brother
The Maccabees were a band of brothers that became martyrs to the faith because of their courage and commitment to those covenants. I pray that we can become more like them. Even among them there was still hope that prophets would return to the land. As we turn from Old Testament to New, we will see the fulfillment of every Messianic prophecy as a meek Messiah comes on to the scene. Not a Matathias or a Judomacabi as far as military might is concerned, but the Lamb of God who would gently and meekly come to the slaughter and be sacrificed for our sins.
