Is Knowledge of the Body Compatible With Self Mastery?
The question is whether or not what we know is necessarily the same as what we master. John Paul goes into that phraseology and I talk more in his pre theology of the body writing. It does mean for instance, just concretely, and we see this epidemic of pornography in our culture. Pornography does not aid in self mastery of the sexual urge. It amplifies it and makes it difficult. And so this is why you see marriages. This afternoon, we'll talk more about that when John Paul talks about shame, shame and sex.
