Jim and Pam are snuggled in her bed when the baby starts crying. They're really parents now. Isabella is going to arrive and she would like to hold the baby, but Pam just wants to burp at first. And that's when she realizes wrong baby. The writer of this episode shared that it was Jean Stupnitsky that pitched Pam should breastfeed the wrong baby. He had originally had the idea that somehow Michael would be the cause of mixing up the babies,. But ultimately they couldn't figure out a way to get Michael back into the hospital room so they still loved the idea of wrong baby.
