Miz was an ancient form of address used for children, so you didn't have to indicate merital status. It had the added advantage of being short - it didn't take up much space on the cover. But presumably, at that stage, not many people knew what mus meant. Some thought it meant muscular scorosis. I mean, it was, it was not easy. Financing the idea wasn't easy either. Eventually, gloria steina went to see her editor at new york magazine, clay felker. He said he would do a sample issue in the year end magazine. We will distribute it around the country and see what happens. And so they did.
