John the Baptist was Jesus' first disciple. He's a homeless man who lives off of grasshoppers and wild honey that he finds. His disciples asked why they weren't fasting like other religious leaders. John responded by saying, "How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn when the groom is right there with them?"
