Ajahn Chah came to America in the late 1970s, and he came to our center in Massachusetts as well. He's really a person who not only has dedicated himself in some way to Buddhist practice, but to Buddhist practice as the practice of living with a compassionate and open heart in a wise way. And I know when our teacher Ajahn Chah first came to the West, he went with Ajahn Sumedto to England; then he came to America.
