The Origins of the Mongol Banners

Dong Jing was a minor official literatus who wrote anti-mantru pamphlets and tried to instigate rebellion. I think the Jungjian emperor treated him very leniently. The administrative aspect is really quite distinct from the way things were done for the Manchus or even the Hanjoo. There's linguistically, there's lots of connections among all these groups. Religiously, there's a more problematic connection. And politically, there're a hugely problematic connection.
