The Eschatological Narrative of Matthew 24 and 25
The parables that Jesus tells, you know, kind of within the eschatological narrative of Matthew 24 and then concluding in 25 are parables that address this vexation. It's ingrained because it's been literally centuries of waiting and expectation of the prophetic tradition playing out. So he doesn't respond appropriately and wholeheartedly. He responds slothfully. And so, so it falls in line, I think, with the other parables that come before and then ultimately falls within the context of the eschatology narrative that begins in chapter 24 and then concludes at the end of 25.
