What Was It Like to Have a Period?
In many ways, having your period was incapacitating to women because there weren't products to use and so you couldn't leave your house. In factories in like the 1800s and 1900s, the floors would be covered with straw. Women used rags and would boil them once a month to clean them wood pulp and grass as a container.
