The Feast of the Holy Innocence

The Feast of the Holy Innocence is a feast in which some of the texts are taken from the Book of Revelations. In these essentially boys, choir boys or acolytes impersonate the Innocence and there's a an acting out of the massacre then there is anacting out of the lament of Rachel over the dead Innocence this would be sung by a male singer. There was a tradition that goes back certainly to the 11th century possibly earlier of their of the children singing either the verses of the refrain I think typically the refrain in alternation with adults.
