The paramedics arrived in the nick of time and were able to resuscitate the person who had collapsed on the street. We use this to indicate that there's a difficult task or something really challenging that we have to do. The candidate had to jump through hoops to get the job, he had to do three interviews and then his practical exam as well. I mean, it really, really difficult but it was worth it in the end.
