The Relationship Between Animal Extinction and Human Life
It does seem like we're chasing our own tail here by trying to define or delineate the boundaries of the human. And actually, we know from our very intimate relationship with technology, with the natural environment, with animals that those boundaries are not that clear. So one of the biggest risks then in relation to taking extinction way more seriously than animal extinction is not seeing the two as interrelated and foregrounding their interrelatedness. We mentioned in the book that humans have struggled to align values with each other, but also with other life forms, including animals. There's really no consistent human animal value alignment out there. That should be a key sort of site for understanding sort of value conflicts and
