The next F1C meeting is January 31st to February 1st. Nick Timeros, who's widely considered the journalist with the best access to what the Fed is thinking, previewed it over the weekend for the Wall Street Journal. The central bank's rate increases are aimed at slowing down inflation by reducing demand. Some have also suggested that even if they hold rates steady this summer, they will indicate they remain more likely to lift rates than to cut them.
