Is There a Dogmatism in Buddhism?

If you subscribe to any religion, there's an element of dogmatism. Buddhism, as a religion, is no different. There isn't one catechism you've got to subscribe to. In christianity, some things you can only know because god's told you. But since there's no god in buddhism, you can't have that. So in the end, you have to figure out all for yourself.
