Nebula is the daughter of Thanos, who's like the evil lord of the empire. Nebula and Gomara sisters goes through all of Guardians of the Galaxy. Every time they compete, when Gomara wins, Thanos takes an actual piece of Nebula's body out of her and replaces it with a mechanical part. There's a huge movement to bring the sisters back together.
