The Importance of Spontaneity in Revolutionary Movements
Sally Kohn: I want to focus on some examples where we've seen that sort of spontaneity. She says the Occupy movement in the United States, which really did happen kind of spontaneously. There's a lot of writing right now coming from more of the ultra-left factions of the left about the yellow-vest movement in France and how it developed out of protests around gas prices. But without a clear socialist leadership to guide that movement in the direction of Marxist-socialist revolution, it will continue to tear itself apart according to Kohn.
