The obvious solution here is to collect more and better data. But as irene explains, this sounds easier than it actually is. There's been a lot of discussion about what are called black box algorithms. This makes it pretty much impossible to explain why the algorithm has come to any decision. So if more data isn't going to fix everything, else are a i researches trying.
