Is There a Trafficking Pattern in Europe?
It's very, very difficult to estimate those numbers. Different countries report their trafficking numbers very differently. Some won't report cases of suspected trafficking - even though researchers believe that must be part of the number. It's so hard to actually ascertain whether if a person sort of disappears off the map, whether they were trafficked. Even in non conflict situations when you don't have four million women kind of move across europe in an very vulnerable position.
