The Differential of Paris in the Renaissance Period

There is an economic depression in 1348 you have had the black death which wipes out maybe a third, maybe up to a half of the population. City is in very very tough times and it only really starts reviving at the end of the 15th and into the 16th century when you get the Renaissance coming through. One of the things which always strikes me about Paris looking around, I wonder whether others do as well, that the colour, the tonality of the built environment is very specific. It is partly to do with the light I think in Paris which has a certain quality even the Roman Emperor Julian mentioned in the 4th century. But also particularly in the northern areas there are
