The Story of Brigham Young

Brigham Young was born on June 1, 1801 in Vermont. His father had been a boy during the Revolutionary War; both of his grandfathers were soldiers. Brigham's mother contracted tuberculosis when he was very young and she was bedridden for most of his youth. He would later say: "In my youthful days, instead of going to school, I had to chop logs to sew"
