i think there is even more fundamental issue with their desire to have ti on, and that comes down to rogio politics. The united states navy could completely cut off all shipping in and out of china easily becausef their blockade in the first island chain. With them owning tia, athe situation would be very, very different. So i think part of the reason that they want to unti one is that insecurity and that ambition to become a global powerA but part of it, obviously, is nationalism and historical reasons too.
