The cangians are correct in identifying the direction of this. The only reason we have such a high living standard to day is because we spend millennia as a species accumulating capital, he says. And so if we got the inflation out of the money, we would indeed have a lower rate of supply growth and more abundance - but that doesn't mean people will stop spending on needless nonsense. So effectively, what the cansians are trying to say here is that our economic problem is that people don't want to consume enough. We can fix that by preventing people from saving and forcing them to consume when the innate desire of all living things is to consume.
