Aircraft Accident Investigation
Investigators believe the crew would have had plenty of time to put on masks, de pressurize and ventilate the aircraft if this gas had been leaking. The material is pretty used, and it wasn't uncommon for it to be shipped by air. It was sealed in a metal capsule about one inch long and contained in a hermetically sealed can that was placed in a cardboard box labelled as radioactive material. Neither of these two shipmens were actualy recovered by the investigators, but they had no reason to believe either contributed to the accident.
