Miss Maud and Miss Grace
Miss Maud fell in love with a foreign musician, whom their father had down from London to play music with him at the manor house. But as the old saying is, pride will have a fall and these two haughty beauties falling in love with the same man. Miss Grace triumphed over Miss Maud, and Miss Maud grew fiercer and fiercer, both with her husband and with her sister. The former went away a month before his usual time that summer, and half threatened that he would never come back again.
