Al-Buruni's Method of Measurement and Quantification
Al-Buruni used a new technique to determine the earth's circumference. He also used his astronomical knowledge to measure the coordinates of various cities, developing maps which were innovative and provided a more space-conscious representation of the world. Al-Buruni famously quipped that he could measure the earth without trundling through the desert.
