How I Met Tanya Tucker
I started singing Tanya's music as an eight-year-old on stage at the Northwest Grand Ole Opry outside of Seattle where I'm from. Northerners feel, I think, more passionate about country music than Southerners do sometimes because we don't have proximity on our side. And so I loved country music, but I had the sense of gender dysphoria. It all came back to me when I found my roots again.
