How Did You Become Interested in Aging?
When i was a graduate student, and i guess starting in 19 92, so a long time ago now, i was presented with opportunity to study aging brains of all sorts of older animals. So that's how i started studying the brain and aging. I still continue to aging to this day. But over time, as the decades passed and i moved out to california, started working at berkeley I became interested in a very clear aspect of aging, which is changes in attention. And what i was observing in my data and my research was that older adults that were complaining about their memory, or these senior moments, ah, these were really attention problems.
