Each of us makes some kind of fundamental choice that's a big choice. Beauvois wasn't as tied to an original choice as satre was for bouvoir, it's a lifelong quest to figure out who you wanto become. And it's okay if you change your mind half way through, but it's not like your digging back into your childhood for that gem of whatever choice you made pre reflectively or reflectively.
