I think that probably my job meant that my English has become a little bit more accent neutral, I would say. My accent has become a bit more like RP or maybe it's sort of developed where I think people can understand me. But really one thing I try not to do is do that foreigner talk, which is when people start to reduce the amount of connected speech. It's a balancing act between trying to be understandable and on the other hand, trying to be natural. And I think it's possible to speak naturally and yet be really clear.
The second part of my conversation with my friend Moz, this time covering subjects such as podcasting vs YouTube, bathing naked in a Japanese spa, sharing personal information online (like a story of bathing naked in a Japanese spa), the role of artificial intelligence & social media, murdering mosquitoes and meeting a crack addict on the streets of London. Vocabulary list and quiz available.
