Introduction
Francisco gonzales moved to los angeles in his early twenties. He was the first person in his family to ever leave tucson. His neighbors were mediachi musicians who had been in the building for generations. Francisco spent a lot of time decorating his new place. Atit peak he'd pay about 900 dollars a month, which was a bit below the average rent in ela at the time. Then just before christmas in 20 16, he came home and noticed a piece of paper taped to his door. The building was getting a new owner. In mid january, another notice, and one said that in three months, the rent was going to go up.
