A-VAPs or average volume assured pressure support on the BIPAP. You set a target title volume that you want your patient to receive with each breath. And then the machine does the work of adding the pressure to achieve that title volume up to a limit. The benefit there being it's possible to get the title volumes that you want without having to do as much work.
