The Importance of Time in the Evolution of Life
For natural life, the big issue is that it makes photosynthesis less appealing as a power source. In any event I do not see 48 hour or week long day lengths as a major hurdle to life in and of itself or civilization. There is an interesting look at that on Cultius, the home world of the World Bears in Warhammer 40,000,. which was a planet and won three times bigger than Earth with a 170 hour long day but 4.8 year orbit of its sun. It would be harder to adapt to that as a colonist.
