Do You Know What Moral Weights Matter?
I guess the philosophical argument is just about the burden of proof, that you should assume people are spending it in ways that are best for them. I hardly know my own subjective moral weights, let alone those for some one else. The philosophy of direct giving says, don't do that exercise as a donor. Let the recipient do it one because there is no right, universal answer.
