How to Be an Ethical Researcher in an Ethics Committee

During lockdown, we moved all of our meetings to Zoom meetings. That's been hugely beneficial for researchers because it means they can literally book on to the next available committee. It really doesn't matter whether it's John O'Groughts or Lanzend and the researchers attend by Zoom. So that makes it a lot better for the researchers. We get them usually about two weeks in advance, and we have a lead reviewer system. Each project has allocated within the committee a lead reviewer and a second reviewer. I also ask the researchers if there's anything they want to ask us, because sometimes we can have some really useful dialogue about the research there.
