How Much Energy Do We Need?
If humans were able to grow trunks and leaves to use photosynthesis to harness energy from the sun, how big would our human leafy crown have to be? We run at around 121 watts. So that's a bit more than like an old school 100 watt incandescent bulb. And so we know how much energy I need, 2,500 calories a day or technically K-Cal, which is kilocalories.
