I think there's also this dichotomy, culturally speaking, between having values and trying to maximize it. And most of people today just care about hedonic comfort. So I'm talking about how to optimize around their interests and needs. Malcolm and I obviously think that the only people who matter are those who are willing to step back from hedonic pleasure and focus on that which matters.
