Vincenzo Papino and the Doge's Palace
In 1991, Vincenzo Papino stole a painting from the Palazzo Ducolle in Venice. He used a knife to separate it from the wall and tucks it under his arm. The next morning, a janitor discovered the theft and called police. Maniero could ban him from stealing or have him killed if he was viewed as disloyal.
