The Pleasure Principle in Freud's Dreams
Freud thought that the mind was seeking equilibrium with respect to pleasure and unpleasure. He said we are constantly dealing with something that's out of balance. When he wrote beyond the pleasure principle, he was admitting that he was wrong about that homeost static nature of the mind. It's why you don't stop that good enough.
