Many of the scientists at los alamos are refugees from the narces. They had been working on the bomb to insure hitler's defeat. In their mind, the purpose for which they were building the bomb no longer existed and no one needed to use it. But war in the pacific burns on with the japanese intent on fighting to the very adthere's still huge pressure from the us Government and military to get the bombs built.
