What Are the Chances of Humans Surviving as Fossils?
We humans make an awful lot of stuff. There are somewhere between eight and ten million living species of animals and plants on earth, by comparison. We probably make hundreds of millions of kinds of tools, of objects. So this will be a fantastically rich and diverse set of fossils. But the trick comes in working out what they were for, how they were used, and even who was using them. What chance is there that we as humans will survive as fossils, as bones? And will the geologist of the far future ise that we humans built them, and not like, say, our cats and dogs, or any other fossil bone that they might find?
