Speaker 1
And you do wonder like this, I think we both think is a tremendous but slightly unconventional crop of talent. So like, I have questions about what other managers would do with it.
Speaker 2
Yeah. And then and then what other managers will do with it when they have a bopping like, you're like, nice problem to have. It's just going to make the team much better. The things that I am interested in there are one, like exactly how is that going to work? Like neither Vinicius or Rodrigo is the striker that a boppate seems to want to play with. And then the other question though is the larger one, which is like, that starts to look like a team that just competes with the best teams in the Premier League year in and year out. If they can figure out the tactics, like
Speaker 1
right now, they're pretty close that even before I'm bopping. I mean, I mean, I think, I mean, I mean, yeah, within Bob a their team that computer Manchester City year in your out. That's
Speaker 2
more what I meant.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Yeah. Now they're a team that competes with everybody else who is like slightly behind Manchester City, you know, and one of them in a given year can sort of rise
Speaker 1
Yeah, that all seems fair.
Speaker 2
Put a Bop A in there and like, you know, this looks like the kind of thing that would be the best team in the world for a fair number of years.
Speaker 1
Yeah, no, absolutely. Which is like a scary prospect for Barcelona to loop back around here. This is not even like Barcelona have done. I mean, look, we've been pretty critical of how they have built their done their team building. But like what we've said is they keep getting good players. The problem is there's no cohesive plan. And what you see when you get to the end of it is you look at what Real Madrid have prepared themselves to do by getting young players by getting like, by not having to replace players two years after they get them and giving them the resources to go and get and get and get and build like this unbelievably dynamic core. And you're like, that's what Barcelona could have done had they done planning. So.
Speaker 2
Yeah, like Barcelona have done a good job not collapsing as a business. They have managed to, you know, the big thing they did was they managed to convince a bunch of guys on a lot of money to like go retire or go to the US. Like very effective way of cutting costs and they have successfully done that. But their plan wall that has been happening has just been like continue to fix the plane while it's in the air. Bring in a guy like Leven Dofsky. If they bring in, as I feel like that's that's another great example of this kind of approach. And none of it seems to be building a team around, you know, what you would in theory be looking at as your future like Gavi and Pedri. I mean, Ansu Fatih, if he were if he weren't hurt all the time would be would be part of that. That's just a problem. But like, they've got some young talent they could be building on. It's just not clear that they are. And then Real Madrid, I think we've, you know, we've been hitting on this for years now. But I think that like the question that I would love to see reported out that I feel like is not being reported out is how is it that Real Madrid is run so well right now.
Speaker 1
It's still for as
Speaker 2
it's not it's not like Florentino for as is like seated control to some like data nerds. It's just they're doing like a really
