Then there weas suddenly this massive consolidation where the biggest banks were playing a much, much bigger role in the overall financial system. And that led to securitization and helped facilitate these really long and complex supply chains. But it also introduced a lot more fragility. It meant that once, like things started to go bad, nobody had the information going back to the fed.
