The Burping Sound of the Sand in the Desert

Melones team took measurements of the burping sand spectra and found that it features a broader range of frequencies, from 70 to 250 herts with no clear peak. They obtained this sand in the desert, both at booming dune sights and at sightes where they could not generate. The sound in the jar is distinctly different than what we hear out in the dunes.
